December 13, 2007 - Box 1751 - South Pearl & Pearl St.
At 0941 hrs Elizabeth Fire Dispatch transmitted Box 1751 for a man in the water. On the response was Eng Co 6, Ladder Co. 3, Rescue Co. 1 & Deputy 3. Eng Co. 7 was special called for an additional boat. The victim had jumped into the Elizabeth River from the Route 1&9 viaduct which is an elevated six lane highway that cuts through the center of the city. The victim was removed from the water and transported to UMDNJ Hospital in Newark.
Two members from Rescue 1 were transported to Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth for minor injuries.
